Short-term accommodation offers those with disabilities the opportunity to stay in an accommodation setting temporarily while accessing support services.

Under the NDIS, short-term accommodation can be provided in various forms such as respite care, transitional housing, or holiday accommodation.

Participants can access short-term accommodation on the basis it is deemed necessary to achieve their goals as well as be included in their NDIS plan/budget.

The NDIS states guidelines about who can provide these supports, what is included in these supports and how to utilize them best. It is recommended that you speak to a support coordinator about your budget and link to providers that can provide the best outcome overall for your choice and control as well as meeting your needs.
