First and foremost, it is important to understand that the NDIS has specific guidelines in place regarding cancellations of services or supports. These are found on NDIS website and NDIS price guide.

It is important to also note these must be written in a service agreement to be utilized. So each service will have a signed document stating what their cancellation policy is. If you need help reading each service agreement with your supports you can reach out to your support coordinator or we are happy to assist!

If you need to cancel a scheduled service or appointment, it is crucial to notify your provider as soon as possible to avoid any potential fees or penalties.

By understanding and adhering to the NDIS cancellation policies, participants can help ensure smooth and efficient service delivery while also respecting the time and resources of their providers. The NDIS has a maximum guideline stating:

“A cancellation is a short notice cancellation if the participant:
• Does not show up for a scheduled support within a reasonable time, or is not present at the agreed place and within a reasonable time when the provider is travelling to deliver the support; or
• Has given less than seven (7) clear days’ notice for a support.” (NDIS Price Guide, 2024).
